Kind as a Bunny

Kind as a Bunny

Wow, what a day! I never thought face painting could be so exhilarating and nerve-wracking at the same time. But seeing the smiles on those little faces and the joy in their eyes made every moment worth it.

Last Saturday, I had the opportunity to take part in a village Easter trail, and I was honored to be the face painting artist. It was a craft I hadn't done in a long time and never really took seriously compared to my crochet skills. But boy, was I wrong. The community's massive egg hunt was a sight to behold, and I was grateful to be a part of it. The venue was beautifully decorated with colorful chairs, Japanese brushstroke umbrellas, and even a vintage suitcase with a mirror that said 'hello beautiful.' I was recommended by a former colleague, and I was determined to make her proud. The day was filled with non-stop painting, and I couldn't believe how quickly the time flew by. I had practiced simple designs like flowers, chicks, and bunnies beforehand, but the children's requests for unicorns and rainbow sharks holding eggs caught me off guard. Thank goodness for paint pens, or I might have been eaten alive by the eager little ones and their parents.

But despite the chaos, ย it was worth it because one child made me feel so emotional. She wanted to be the Easter bunny and her love for it was so pure and genuine. She said, 'The Easter bunny is so nice and kind to share all his eggs with the world...I want to be kind too!' *insert tears* It broke my heart when she mentioned someone at school who wasn't so nice to her. It's sad that in this world, people choose violence instead of kindness. But in that moment, I was reminded of why I was there all day with no breaks, no food, no water, and poor posture. It was to spread kindness and joy, just like that bunny she was talking about. Let's all strive to be like the Easter bunny and spread love and kindness in any way we can. #BeTheEasterBunny #SpreadKindness #ChooseLoveOverViolence ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’•
